On The Wings Of Passion I.
Two-piece painting, each 75x140x3 cm / mixed media and mirrors on canvas, 2011
This painting comes from my collection "Non Sufficit Una" meaning "One is not enough". One (person) is not enough for life, for love, for being. This specific painting represents joy and passion. Wings as a symbol are one of my favourite themes. The power of the symbol lies within itself. It represents ethereal beings, genii (guardian spirits) as well as freedom. They express a connection to the heavenly sphere.
They have the ability to rise above the gravity of Earth. According to the book "Heraldic Symbolism" by Viktor Palivec, "Wings in a coat of arms signify a joyful message and the flourishing and growth of a dynasty, which can only be sustained by the laudable deeds of its descendants."
