A Little Seoul I.
50x100x2 and 40x50x2 cm / mixed media on canvas, 2016
This structured painting of Seoul was inspired by the blooming fields traversed by a golden ribbon: the river, watched over by the white moon rabbit and its female mate. The moon rabbit is a figure seen in the markings on the moon; in Korean folklore, it pounds rice in a mortar to make rice cakes. "A Little Seoul I." is part of the artist's "Around the World" collection, which presents interesting cities or entire countries from a higher perspective.
The abstract structure of the streets themselves is sometimes complemented by figurative painting, gilding or gemstones. An original artwork, made with love and passion.
