Seoul for KIA

70x150x3 cm / mixed media and Swarovski elements on canvas, 2011

"I really enjoy this kind of 'travelling' while creating these paintings." The aim of this collection is to depict the great cities of the world, as well as other interesting towns and cities, capturing the spirit and mood of each. In the "Around the World" collection, the streets are drawn realistically based on actual maps. The city infrastructure is enhanced by the layered structure and creates abstract patterns which are themselves the secret “faces” of these cities but can also represent complex entities, even human figures or portraits in some cases.

A distinctive structure that she invented creates a 3D effect and is sometimes combined in this collection with precious metals, gilding techniques, mixed pigments or gemstones. This painting is part of a set that Sarah painted for KIA Motors Slovakia.
